About Me

I am currently a third-year student of Geosciences at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo BC, with extensive experience in both the Construction and Oil and Gas industries. I have worked as a plumber/gasfitter for nearly five years and hold my third-year apprenticeship ticket. I began work in the Oil and Gas industry in 2010 as a roughneck on a drilling rig in Northern Alberta and transitioned to equipment operation and site coordination. Most recently I have worked as a geophysical intern in the Kurdish Region of Northern Iraq.

I am originally from the small town of Cochrane, Alberta where I grew up on a small farm in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Growing up in the Rockies and spending time there with family and friends instilled a love of the natural world and a passion for understanding how it works. When not working on university projects or at work I am an avid road and mountain cyclist, rock climber, skier, and carpenter. I have a passion for exploration in the outdoors, building and fixing things.

After completing my degree in Geoscience in 2021, I intend to pursue a career in international oil and gas or mineral exploration with an emphasis on working in sensitive geopolitical regions.
